Biography

Grandson of Muhammad Mālik Cissé, known as Madior Cissé the Great (See Chapter 9). He was initiated into the Tijāniyya and appointed the deputy of Serigne Babacar Sy in Saint-Louis.

A number of his writings were translated into French and published by ʿAbd Allāh Cissé as Musulmans, pouvoir et société d’après les dits et les écrits de Son Eminence Serigne Madior Cissé. Paris, L’Harmattan, 1998.
