Saʿd Abīhi Diop b. Aḥmad Diop Massar

Born in Saint-Louis, he was a native speaker of Wolof language. He learned the Qurʾān and was initiated in Arabic in Saint-Louis. He migrated to Mauritania where he stayed several years in the house of Shaykh Saʿd Būh [Saʿd Abīhi] b. Muḥammad Fāḍil. It was there that he deepened his training in Islamic studies and was initiated into the Qādiriyya ṭarīqa.
