Biography

Born at Arbajī, he studied with among others Bilāl b. Muḥammad al-Azraq b. al-shaykh al-Zayn (K. al-ṭabaqāt, 124), with whom he read works of Shāfiʿī fiqh. He became qāḍī and muftī at Arbajī, giving rulings in both the Mālikī and Shāfiʿī madhhabs. He died and was buried at Arbajī.
