Fierce Sandstorm Causes a 32-hour Train Delay

At about 7 p.m. on April 4, the T-70 train from Urumchi to Beijing was swept up in a fearsome sandstorm. Blowing sand broke windows on the left side of the train. All seven hundred passengers and staff members fought against the onrushing sand for about twenty-four hours. The train finally arrived in Lanzhou at 9:41 p.m., thirty-two hours late.
