Bannum was a merḫûm 1 who supported Zimri-Lim during the first eight to twelve months of his reign. According to a sealing that is likely to be attributed to Bannum, he was “a servant of Yahdun-Lim, who returned the heir of Yahdun-Lim to his place.”2 Thus Bannum claimed to have had a role in helping Zimri-Lim secure the throne at Mari.
