This letter was written by Ibal-Addu to Zimri-Lim some time before the former’s accession to the throne of Ashlakka.1 Ibal-Addu’s missive provides an insight into the events that transpired in the aftermath of Shamshi-Adad’s death, when the kingdom of Upper Mesopotamia collapsed.
