Commentary

The most important group of myths in the Hittite language is the Kumarbi Series. The earliest Kumarbi myths to be edited were the Song of Emergence (initially called Theogony or Kingship in Heaven) and the Song of Ullikummi (Forrer 1936; Güterbock 1946). Both were translated into English by Goetze 1955. A definitive edition of the Song of Ullikummi was prepared by Güterbock (1961).
