Yassi-Dagan, a military commander of Zimri-Lim (cf. A.1025 [4.65] and ARM 2.130 [4.67]), sent this message to Sammetar, a functionary that resided at Mari while the king was away from the city. Yassi-Dagan was primarily concerned with the conduct of Bunu-Eshtar, a member of the Numha, who had aspirations to be the king at Kurda (cf. FM 2.117 [4.59]; FM 2.116 [4.60]; and ARM 10.5 [4.61]).
