Commentary

Engraved on a large marble tablet (× cm) found in the wall of the city of Aššur, this version of the annals can be identified as Recension E (Schramm  EAK 2:77–78). The narration covers through Shalmaneser’s twentieth year and therefore dates to 839 bce.
