I. Name

The astral being Hêlēl, occurs as a divine name only in Isa. 14.12: “How you have fallen from heaven, Bright Morning Star (hêlēl ben-šāḥar), felled to the earth, sprawling helpless across the nations!” (NEB). However, translations of this verse vary. After the opening words, the RSV continues: “O Day Star, son of Dawn!
