Biḥār al-Anwār, the magnum opus of Muḥammad Bāqir al-Majlisī (d. 1037–1110 or 1111/1628–1698 or 1699), consisting of an encyclopaedic compendium of Shiʿi ḥadīth.

The full title of the work is Biḥār al-anwār al-jāmiʿa li durar akhbār al-aʾimma al-aṭhār. In 1070/1660, having completed his Muṣannafāt al-aṣḥāb, the author resolved to write this work, although 1072/1662 is the first date recorded in the work itself …
