1400. Switzerland. A short Latin historical account written in the Benedictine monastery of Pfäfers (canton of St. Gallen, diocese of Konstanz). It narrates several conflicts between the abbots of Pfäfers and the Vögte (lay governors) of the monastery in the 13th century. The monastery had a Gerichtsvogt and a Schirmvogt to represent it in juridical and secular affairs respectively.
