[85] When the peerless wazir (Fath Khan) set out for Kashmir at Shah Mahmud’s order, he entered Gujrat by way of the Punjab because the Muzaffarabad River was in flood. There he met with Ranjit Singh, agreed to bring Shah Shujaʿ to Lahore after releasing him, and to reunite him with his family.
